Walter is a one-year-old, 45lb male hound or black mouth cur mix, plus possibly some Boston Terrier or Pug. He’s goofy and loving. Dog Gone Seattle says he’d make a great sports dog. But Walter also likes his quiet time: he’s can be very relaxed and chill, and loves to snuggle on the couch with you. The shelter expects Walter to be fairly easy to train as he is motivated by food and toys. He’s also doing quite well with other dogs and cats in his foster home. He definitely needs structure and leadership as he has a propensity towards jumping, mouthing, and counter surfing!
Walter is house trained, crate trained, and getting better by the day on leash. He likes cats but is keen on chasing them, so only homes with dog-savvy cats will be considered. Walter loves his people and is quite loyal, but due to his need for consistency and leadership, only homes with older children will be considered.
Walter’s ideal family will be active, have dog experience, room for him to run, no small animals, and enthusiasm for building a strong bonds of companionship. It won’t bee too hard with Walter: he’s very loving.
