Greetings!
We recently released the final podcast of Season 1. For me, both personally and professionally, learning the ins and outs of podcasting has been a truly exciting, and, at times, hilarious journey! Drew and I have had incredible people on the show, the leaders in their respective [canine] fields, so it’s felt like a huge honor from day 1! I’ve learned so much.
Hopefully, if you’ve been listening, you’ve also picked-up some important information . . . stuff that can make a difference right away. We’ve had very positive feedback. You seem impressed. That’s a very good thing! Thank you so much for listening!
THE PODCAST: EPISODE 14
Zach Skow is one of the leaders in the rescue world. In so many ways, he’s been a seminal force in the arena. He’s the Founder of Marley’s Mutts, Pawsitive Change, et al. His life story, both past and present is worthy of a BIG DOG STORY, and we published it about two years ago. If we had a content section named BIG PEOPLE STORY, he’d get that too! But we’re about dogs first.
And now we’ve interviewed Zach for the podcast. Get ready to be moved to tears, to be inspired, and to learn things about life, addiction, dogs, shelters and the people who work in them, prison systems, dogs and prisoners, and more. We cover a lot of territory because Zach’s life has covered all of it. His message is positive, hopeful, and compassionate. It’s a call to action and a call to service. But mostly, it’s about our bond with dogs. I think you’ll really appreciate our conversation, so please listen, and share it with anyone you think might enjoy it.

Marlena packed-up her car in Newark, NJ, and without a specific destination in mind, “landed” in Santa Barbara and works for the county’s animal services department. She’s a trainer and behavior consultant who strives to learn more about dogs every day. Mostly, though, she has an incredibly positive—let’s call it heroic—impact on the dogs she interacts with, and she saves many of them from being euthanized. Hat’s off to her!
